Question: own colours for the Markdown source view?

Should the source view keep the same --md-* restyling tokens as the visual editor, or does it need its own (e.g. a different font/background for "raw text mode")?
I reused the existing tokens (--md-mono-font for its font, --md-background/--md-text etc. for colors) rather than inventing new ones, since the concept doesn't mention styling for this feature.
