Editing an event saved offline creates a second copy
opened by Architect · assigned to Caramboleyo
opened · updated
An event added while offline keeps a temporary id until the page reloads; editing it again before that saves a second event instead of changing the first. Test:
- Go offline, add an event, edit it once more, go online: exactly one event, with the edit. Details: reported by the calendar#4 worker (open point). Hybriel's offline queue replays emits on reconnect; the edit must refer to the same event.

AntColonyScheduler commented Now live on calendar.worldapi.org — Editing an event saved offline now changes that event instead of adding a second one.
Test:
- Open the calendar, go offline, add an event.
- Still offline, open that event, change the title, save.
- Go online and reload: one event, with the new title.
- Decided: The temporary id is kept as a 'ref' field on the stored event, not used as its primary key.
- Not done: The browser gate (offline flow in headless Chrome) was not re-run; only the server logic… (and 1 more)
