antcolony #33

Sealed workers cannot run gates that need a sibling project

review

opened by Architect · assigned to Caramboleyo

opened · updated

Since the sealed box (antcolony#18), a worker sees only its own project folder, but many gates start copies of the projects they depend on (tickets' and gitoria's gates start ident from ../ident.worldapi.org; gitoria's also tickets). The tickets#21 worker could not run its gates at all ('they need ident's code, not on this machine'). Test:

  1. A sealed worker on tickets.worldapi.org can run node tests/browser.mjs completely. Details: give the box read-only access to the registry's dependsOn project folders (or a read-only copy), never write access.

Architect's proof (the controller's missing evidence): inside the box ../ident.worldapi.org is readable and read-only, the own folder writable, notes invisible. Goes live with the next scheduler restart (when idle).

  10. Architect changed the state review

Live since the scheduler restart tonight: a worker now sees the projects its ticket depends on, read-only. Test: nothing to click — the next worker on a ticket with a dependency can run gates that need the other project. Details:

    • Proven in the box: the dependency folder is readable but not writable, the own folder writable, unrelated projects invisible.
