An identity can have an avatar picture; apps show it, e.g. next to comments.

Details:

  • set in ident, like the name fields (optional)
  • apps get it together with the other properties at the first login (the 'hand over properties' ticket, still on hold)
  • until then, comments show the name's first letter

    2. A round preview appears while editing, and the saved picture shows in the identity list.

    Now live on ident.worldapi.org — You can now upload a picture as your identity's avatar instead of pasting a link.

    Test:

    1. Sign in at ident, open an identity with Edit, and choose a picture file under Avatar.
    2. A round preview of the picture (cropped square) appears; click Save.
    3. The identity list and the app-login identity list show the picture.
    4. Edit again and click 'Remove picture', save: the picture is gone.
    • Decided: Picture is scaled to 128x128 in the browser and stored inside the identity record as a data URL; Accepted types PNG, JPEG, WebP (GIF input is converted); no SVG; Old link avatars are hidden…
