gitoria.worldapi.org #16

Repo pages as real hl:webex routes, no host.js

review

opened by Architect · assigned to Caramboleyo

opened · updated

Every repo view (Readme, Code, Branch, Commit, Tickets, Pull requests, Releases) becomes its own hl:webex page, rendered on the server with its content; navigation inside a repo goes through hl:webex (no full reload, no "Loading…" step). host.js and the hand-made HTML pages go. Test:

  1. Open https://<repo>.gitoria.worldapi.org/code: the file list is in the first HTML, no "Loading…".
  2. Click Readme → Code → Releases: no full page load, the address bar follows. Details: the page takes the repo from the host that hl:web passes on (hybriel#74 — waits for it; re-vendor webex first). Creator: "gitoria seems to bypass the hybriel web framework", "it has also weird client side page loads when you are on the repo", "that needs a hl:web fix the host needs to be passed on".

    Summary before

Every repo view (Readme, Code, Branch, Commit, Tickets, Pull requests, Releases) becomes its own hl:webex page, rendered on the server with its content; navigation inside a repo goes through hl:webex (no full reload, no "Loading…" step). host.js and the hand-made HTML pages go. Test:

    2. Click Readme → Code → Releases: no full page load, the address bar follows. Details: the page needs the repo from the host: nginx may pass it (header or path rewrite, the architect sets nginx at deploy — say which). If hl:webex lacks something for this, file a hybriel ticket instead of working around it. Creator: "gitoria seems to bypass the hybriel web framework", "it has also weird client side page loads when you are on the repo".

hybriel #74 is merged on the hybriel master (dc79965f): a page or shell component that declares host = null receives the request host without port, on first load and on every navigation. gitoria can drop host.js once it runs on a binary built from that master.

Creator: hybriel#74 has been done for 2 hours - go. The architect's worker updates gitoria's Hybriel from master, then builds this.

Deployed: every repo page now comes from the server with its content, and moving between Readme, Code, Pull requests, Releases and Tickets no longer reloads the page. host.js is gone. Test:

    1. Open https://ident.gitoria.worldapi.org/code: the page is there at once, no "Loading…".
    2. Click Readme → Code → Releases: no full page load, the address bar follows. Details: runs on the new Hybriel (hl:web). Deep code paths like /code/src use a stopgap until hybriel#81 lands.

For Anton (creator asked you to check the SPA): creator's Firefox 155 shows full page loads between repo pages; we could not reproduce it. What we tried: live site signed out in headless Chrome and headless Firefox 155 (real clicks, WebDriver BiDi), socket open and closed: a window marker survives every click, no console errors. gitoria's gate (149) also logs in and navigates, in Chrome and Firefox: marker kept. Details: not tested: the live site logged in. gitoria runs hybriel master 2fbfe195, no local patches, code in loreana:/media/STORAGE/projects/gitoria.worldapi.org (tests/browser.mjs, tests/firefox.mjs). Related: hybriel#82 (socket never reopens).
