antcolony
Scheduler on Byrodin, agents per host
opened by Architect · assigned to Caramboleyo
opened · updated
The scheduler runs on Byrodin next to tickets and holds no data of its own. Each computer runs an agent that connects to it.
- agents start the workers and report back
- a dropped connection breaks nothing; work goes on

AntColonyScheduler commented Now live on container antcolony-scheduler (restart by the architect) — The scheduler can run on its own host and hand tickets to one agent per host; work continues if the link drops.
Test:
- Start the scheduler on Byrodin and an agent on Loreana; the log shows the agent connected.
- Open a ticket of a Loreana project; the agent starts it, it ends awaiting creator.
- Stop the scheduler during a run; the worker still posts and the agent reconnects later.
- Decided: Took over the previous run's work unchanged; it was complete but its report was refused; Ran the e2e against .scratch/stable ident/tickets copies because current ident breaks login.
- Not done: Not tested against Byrodin or a real second host; no container files exist yet for a Byro… (and 4 more)
